Step 2: Finding a Program: What are your interests?
Once you have contacted an abroad counselor (from Step 1), start thinking about your personal interests that can narrow your program search. Where would you like to travel? Is there a certain language that you’ve always wanted to learn? What about a culture that you’ve been interested in or your favorite type of ethnic cuisine? If you need some ideas, you can also find a list of available programs being offered by all California Community Colleges on the California Colleges for International Education (CCIE) Study Abroad Program Directory. CCIE allows prospective students to explore programs by country, college, program, duration or academic term. The Study Abroad Student Handbook is another resource for additional information on finding the right a study abroad program for you.
