Step 4: Financing Study Abroad

There are plenty of options to make study abroad programs as affordable for community college students as possible, so be sure to discuss this with your counselor as well! There may be financial aid and scholarships available through your college or program to help cover costs. If you plan in advance, there are also a number of special scholarships available to cover all the costs of study abroad. For example, the Gilman Scholarship may be available to students who are normally eligible for federal Pell Grants. Your counselor may advise speaking to someone in your college’s financial aid office for further information.
