Why Study Abroad?

Living abroad for any period of time while enrolled in community college facilitates student understanding of the world outside the U.S. It enhances professional resumes for future career opportunities, strengthens applications for those planning to transfer to a four-year college or university, and maximizes personal growth that can increase academic focus and productivity. In fact, some returning abroad students complete their academic requirements faster and in fewer academic terms than students who don't study abroad!

Community college abroad programs are usually short-term; a few weeks to a semester long. The following link, The Top 10 Reasons to Study Abroad, provides additional background information on the impact that studying abroad has on students. Statements from mentors, returning students, faculty and staff offer further insight into the value of the abroad experience as well.

We look forward to collaborating with others who share similar research goals. For further dialogue, please Contact Us.
