The UC Education Abroad Program (EAP) provides short-term, summer, and full-year study abroad opportunities. Over 4,000 UC students each year pay regular UC tuition and receive UC credit as they make the world their campus on EAP at 150 host institutions in 35 countries. Even students' financial aid applies, and courses are carefully integrated so students make progress toward their degrees.
Students who transfer to UC from two- and four-year institutions may participate in select EAP options even during their junior year. UC Davis, Irvine, and Santa Barbara have no residency requirements prior to study abroad.
Program options in a wide range of academic fields from tropical biology and conservation studies in the cloud forests of Costa Rica to offerings in London, Paris, and Rome; from field research in Mexico to engineering in Japan.
Most EAP students take regular host university courses. Some programs consist of language study and special courses for international students.
