These Tulane Study Abroad Programs (TSAP) begin
with a 2-week intensive course designed to help you prepare
for the academic, cultural, and linguistic challenges ahead.
During the semester or year, students are supported on site by
the Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE). CIEE
staff members help Tulane students enroll in courses at the
host universities, organize social and cultural events, assist
students in locating volunteer and internship possibilities
when available, and provide assistance in locating housing.
Whether you choose to study in the vibrant, Santiago or the
friendly, coastal city of Valparaiso, your courses, grades,
and credits travel back with you to Tulane when you complete a
TSAP.

Where Will I Live?
Students on these TSAPs make arrangements for their housing
with CIEE. In both programs, you have the opportunity to live
in a private home.
What Are The Costs?
Studying abroad is affordable. Costs vary by program and
student lifestyle. Because students on TSAPs pay Tulane
University tuition for their studies abroad, most Tulane and
federal financial aid applies. Below is an average of the
per-semester cost for the 2005-06 year to
help you with your budgeting:

all other costs, including housing, directly as they

Some programs fill up before the deadline so you are
strongly advised to submit your application early to increase
your chances of being accepted.
A complete application includes a statement of purpose, two
letters of recommendation from Tulane faculty, one photo and a
$50 non-refundable deposit. In addition, after your complete
online application has been submitted, you will be advised on
setting up a required language interview. Late or
incomplete applications will be rejected.
Upon conditional acceptance from the CIS, you will submit
an application to the host program abroad. Final
acceptance to study abroad is contingent upon this
application and your ability to maintain the above eligibility
requirements through the semester before departure.
