Financial Assistance

Special financial help is available to students affected by the Hurricane. Scholarships, loans, and reduced cost for tuition and housing are some of the options which may be available for you. Your first stop should be at the student support office and the financial aid office at the college or university where you are now and/or where you will be attending next semester.  The following are additional useful resources to help:

• Scholarship America Disaster Relief Fund: Special Scholarships
  Information is provided for institutions on applying for special funds for their students. Check with your financial aid office for details.
• SALLIE MAE Hurricane Relief Loans
  Apply before December 31, 2005 to see if you qualify for this one-time relief loan of up to $1,000. The loan is interest-free until May 31, 2006.
