Anglia Polytechnic University (APU)
We can consider applications for admission as visiting students for one
year or one semester on our Study Abroad Programme at APU in Cambridge
or Chelmsford. Students displaced by Hurricane Katrina may be eligible
for a $1000 U.S. special scholarship.
British Council: Maintaining list of
universities in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and
Wales able to accept displaced students.
IES London
Program (Institute for the International Education of Students):
IES is
accepting late applications from students affected by Hurricane
Katrina school closures. Applications are due Monday, September 12.
Kingston University:
Can
consider applications on an individual basis so that we can ensure
that we can provide a suitable course of study. We will accept faxed
or emailed applications from now until 0700 Eastern Standard Time
Thursday 22 September and will respond as fast as possible (within
48 hours max). Students will receive a partial tuition fee waiver
against the fees as published on the web.
Lancaster
University through Butler: Institute for Study Abroad - IFSA-Butler
is allowing late enrollment in several fall and year programs for
students who are not able to return to classes this fall due to
Hurricane Katrina.
Liverpool
John Moores University: Would
still be able to offer places to students who are affected by the
hurricane. Although our original deadline for application to
Semester One this year had been set at 15th July, we are able to
extend this for students wishing to come to LJMU and study within
the Faculty of Media, Arts and Social Science.
London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE):
The programme available to them is called
the General Course and requires them to have a GPA in excess of 3.3
and to have already completed a minimum of two years of university
level study. The deadline for applications is 16 September 2005.
Roehampton University: Would be able to consider students
who apply by September 22nd. Students
affected by the Hurricane will receive a partial tuition fee waiver against
the fees as published on the web.
Royal Holloway
University of London: Would be able to consider students
this semester.
University of Bristol through Butler: Institute for Study Abroad
- IFSA-Butler is allowing late enrollment in several fall and year
programs for students who are not able to return to classes this
fall due to Hurricane Katrina.

College Cork through Arcadia University: Apply through
Arcadia
University.

College Northampton: Space is still available in
some degree areas. Although the closing date has passed, it
might be possible to consider academically well qualified students
for one of our International Scholarships.
University of Bath:
Still able to consider applications for study abroad from hurricane-affected
students for a semester or year.
University of
Leicester: We would consider tuition reductions and
wouldn't expect students to pay more than they would have done at
their home university. We would also be able to accept late
transfers. Our academic year starts on Monday 3 October.
University
of Newcastle Upon Tyne : Would welcome applications from
displaced students.
University of
Huddersfield: Would be happy to consider accepting
transfer students on to our courses.
University of Sussex: can offer two places for fall or
year-long programs to any displaced students. University-managed
housing is guaranteed and we will give a 25% discount on our regular
study abroad tuition fees. The Autumn Term begins on October
3rd, and there is a week-long orientation program beginning
September 24th.
University of York through Butler: Institute for Study Abroad -
IFSA-Butler is allowing late enrollment in several fall and year
programs for students who are not able to return to classes this
fall due to Hurricane Katrina.
Université d'Orléans: Offering free tuition for up to 50
students for students displaced by Hurricane Katrina from the
University of New Orleans. They are looking into other
financial support for students as well.
The
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD):
Offering an additional ten scholarships / grants for
study and research in Germany: "DAAD Katrina Relief
Scholarships".
Loyola
Marymount University Study Abroad, in Cooperation
with German Partner Academy for International Education
in
Bonn or
Düsseldorf: Can still accept students for
their program in Bonn or Düsseldorf for Fall Semester.
A special scholarship to cover many of the program costs
for one student has been made available.
Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg (in German): Offering a
stipend for an American student or member of staff
personally affected by the hurricane. The University
of Bamberg will cover tuition and fees as well as the
return airfare to Germany, and will provide free room
and board plus a daily allowance for the period of
October 2005 through July 2006. For further information

American College of Thessaloniki:
We can accept students through Sept. 30. They must arrive and be in
Greece no later than Friday October 7. Each case will be reviewed on
an individual basis, but we are potentially in a position to offer up
to full tuition scholarships for a limited number of students displaced
by Hurricane Katrina.
