California State University
International Programs

International Programs (IP), the system-wide study abroad program of the California State University, allows students at all 23 of its campuses to gain valuable international, intercultural, and linguistic experience. IP's special focus on academic year programs makes it a unique part of the spectrum of study abroad opportunities at each campus.

Students transferring from California Community Colleges may apply to participate in IP during their first year at the CSU.

Transfers from CA community colleges are eligible EXCEPT Japan. Japan applicants must attend the CSU the fall semester of the year prior to the year they wish to study in Japan.

Financial aid (except work study) is applicable overseas, enabling more students to realize their dream of studying abroad.

IP allows students to stay on track and earn CSU resident credit for all course work completed abroad. Studying abroad does not delay graduation, but rather enhances one's degree and opens doors that may not be possible to pass through without the increasingly important international skills that today's employers value.

Programs are available in Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.

Please note: All of the CSU International Programs are yearlong programs: http://www.calstate.edu/ip/documents/Why_Choose_a_Yearlong_Program.pdf
